Welcoming New Hollywood Elite: A Look at the New Mrs. Clooney
Something happened this weekend that nobody thought would ever happen: Hollywood’s most eligible bachelor George Clooney got married! Amal Alamuddin is a high-power attorney and not a part of the Hollywood elite. This has caused many media outlets to allude that George has married a “normal.”
While she’s not Hollywood elite, we beg to differ! Amal Alamuddin Clooney is far from average. Here’s a look into the woman who broke hearts around the world this weekend.
Amal Ramzi Alamuddin is 36 years old and was north in Beirut, Lebanon. She is of British and Lebanese nationality and studied at the super prestigious Oxford University. She then went to the New York University School of Law. As a student clerk, she worked for Sonia Sotomayor (yes, Supreme Court Sotomayor). After working for three years at Sullivan & Cromwell, Amal went back to the United Kingdom to become barrister of Doughty Street Chambers.
Among her many accomplishments, she has been appointed to several United Nations commissions. Most famously, she was rumored to be on the UN’s commission to investigate the Israel-Gaza conflict. She publicly denied the rumors. Oh yeah, she’s also fluent in English, Arabic and French.
It’s clear that she’s far from “average.” She may not know her way around a red carpet like Hollywood starlets but she’s certainly extraordinary. George is lucky to have her.
The happy couple became engaged in April of this year and officially tied the not in Venice, Italy on September 29, 2014. Cheers to them both for scoring on successful partners. (And yes, she’s also quite lovely looking!)
