The Final Line Up of The Daily Show Revealed
Next week will be Jon Stewart’s last week of hosting The Daily Show. He made his retirement announcement earlier this year causing sizable ripples throughout media outlets. This Thursday night, he revealed three of his final guests at the end of the episode. They are Amy Schumer, Denis Leary and Louis C.K.
“Remember, next week is our last week,” he said to the audience. “We’re going to have a ball, and I can’t to show my appreciation at all the support and enthusiasm that you guys have given the show all these years.” All these years is right, as Stewart has been hosting the show for 16 years.
The finale is set to be 50 minutes long, and that’s just about all anybody knows. It has been very hush hush. Comedy Central will have a marathon of old reruns and favorites beginning Thursday, August 6 as a lead in to his last episode. He will be replaced by comedian Trevor Noah.
Fans of the show are sad to see Stewart go, but he is by no means leaving on a bad note. In fact, retirement won’t do much in terms of his elite status. Comedic celebrity has been kind to him. It is estimated he will leave the show with a solid $80 million net worth.
