The Richest Hip Hop Artists 2014
Who in hip hop dominates the wealth department this year? The Life Elite knows, of course. Read on for the breakdown.
#3 Jay Z
Shawn Carter, known to the world as Jay Z, is a force. The hip hop rapper and producer has his hands in so many different ventures, it is no wonder he and wife Beyonce are one of music’s wealthiest couples. His ventures include Rocawear (which he sold in 2007 for $204 million) and much more. Worth: $520 million.
Nobody forgot about Dre. Andre Young, known as Dr. Dre, is still making waves—now with Beats by Dre. The venture has placed 65% of the premium headphone market in his hands. Who knew that the NWA alum would go from “the world’s most dangerous group” to one of the world’s richest in the biz? Worth: $550 million.
Even if you still call him Puff Daddy or P Diddy, you must know that Sean “Diddy” Combs is a businessman of the highest order. Hip-hop artist, producer, hilarious actor, Ciroc backer and majority owner of Revolt TV makes him the richest in hip hop. Will he hop his way to the billionaire mark one day? It’s very possible. Can’t nobody take his pride. Can’t nobody hold him down. Oh no. He’s got to keep on moving. Worth: $700 million.
